Situated in the lower reaches of the Haihe River and facing the Bohai Sea to the east , Tianjin is the important industrial and commercial centre in North China , one of the four municipalities directly under the central government. Area : over 11000 km2.

Tianjin has a relative flat terrain sloping from north to south. It enjoys distinct four seasons in a year,but autumn is the best season. The annual mean temperature is about 13′C, and the annual precipitation is 500-700 mm.
