One of the most interesting sea beaches in this district is named “Kuakata”. Sunset and sunrise can be observed from this sea beach. This is a rare case in the world that you can watch sunset and sunrise from the same sea beach. There are many tribes people living in this district. These people originated from Myanmar and south-eartern India. The majority of them are “Mogg” and “Chakma”. You can get a different taste of beauty in being close contact with their lifestyle. Patuakhali University of Science and Technology is in the Dumki Upazila in this district. It is a new, but is a very good university for agriculture and IT education.
