Kolkata-Calcutta
Kolkata (Calcutta) is third most populated city in India, with a population of around 5 million. In 2001, the city’s name was officially changed from Calcutta to Kolkata.
The city is now eastern India’s centre of business, commerce and finance.
Kolkata is home to five Nobel laureates – Ronald Ross, Rabindranath Tagore, Mother Teresa, CV Raman and Amartya Sen.
